2022 Growing Groundcover Fodder Innovation Program

Project Overview

Applications are invited from landholders running livestock, within the Wheatbelt NRM region.

Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management and the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program are delivering a project to increase ground cover and fill feed gaps in mixed farming systems.

We are looking for projects that demonstrate innovation within your current farm system. These could be trialling new summer cover crops or planting perennial pastures, we are open to your suggestions. We have small grants of up to a maximum of $2,500 ex GST that are available. The projects that demonstrate they can increase ground cover and provide fodder and/or shelterbelts for livestock will be considered. The activities that the grant can help cover include purchasing seed and/or covering Seedling costs for next years planting season.
